Mmmmmm….nothing like a cup of flower power to start your day with.
I like taking pictures of cups I guess. They make me happy.
In my morning read today I came across these words, “All my springs are in you.”
I think some translations say “fountains” in the place of “springs.”
Those words caused me to pause…and muse for a bit. I like the thought of a spring or fountain being inside of me. I want to feel alive. I want to believe that there is a power deep within me that springs forth life. This fountain not only brings me life; but others come to it as well to refresh themselves and to sustain their lives.
Such a cool thought.
Those who are connected to the living water get to splash life onto themselves and others.
It sounds like one big wet and wild party.
And we have several “springs” or “fountains.” They are dug deep into the different soil of our life. Yet they are all somehow connected to the One living river. Maybe there is an underground river in each one of us just waiting and wanting to burst forth.
In Katy Perry’s song, “Firework,” she totally ‘gets’ the bursting forth phenomenon:
(this song plays over and over in my head sometimes–so, sorry if you can’t get it out of your head for the rest of the day)
Do you ever feel like a plastic bag
Drifting through the wind Wanting to start again
Do you ever feel, feel so paper thin
Like a house of cards
One blow from caving in
Do you ever feel already buried deep
Six feet under scream But no one seems to hear a thing
Do you know that there’s still a chance for you? Cause there’s a spark in you
You just gotta ignite the light
And let it shine
Just own the night Like the Fourth of July
Cause baby you’re a firework
Come on show ’em what your worth
Make ’em go “Oh, oh, oh!” As you shoot across the sky-y-y
Baby you’re a firework
Come on let your colors burst
Make ’em go “Oh, oh, oh!” You’re gunna leave ’em fallin’ down-own-own
You don’t have to feel like a waste of space
You’re original, cannot be replaced
If you only knew what the future holds After a hurricane comes a rainbow
Maybe you’re reason why all the doors are closed
So you can open one that leads you to the perfect road
Like a lightning bolt, your heart will blow
And when it’s time, you’ll know
Boom, boom, boom
Even brighter than the moon, moon, moon
It’s always been inside of you, you, you
And now it’s time to let it through
If you watch the music video–you’d see a bunch of people running around with fireworks bursting from their chests—kinda weird right?
And yet that’s exactly what I’m after.
Whether your talking fireworks or fountains…we’ve got some bursting to do.
Why? Because that’s truly living life to it’s fullest I’d say. Â An overflowing, cannot contain, bright colors–take-your-breathe-away life.
What feeds this fountain within us? Â What ignites the light?
Everyone has their own methods–but as for me…it goes a little something like this:
A smile from my little lovely. It’s in her eyes….gulp, gulp, gulping it up.
Walking in on this does a number on my heart. Add it to the list.
Baby toes help a lot too.
But mostly I do a lot of this:
On a side note: Â we brought the wishbone from the Thanksgiving turkey out to let Anna try her luck at it.
She got her wish. Â We made Christmas cookies tonight together.
The snow was falling in big flakes outside our window and the Christmas tunes were a-blasting. Â Perfect for cookie making and cute baby pictures.
Let us choose today not to live in constipation–  Bust a move and shine/splash on someone today. Oh, and don’t forget to eat a cookie too.
All of creation is waiting on you…..
