Travels

I love to travel.
No ifs, ands, or buts about it.

In my singleness, I was afforded several opportunities to travel around the globe. Actually, just thinking about my past traveling experiences puts a lump in my heart that is aching to be revisited. Sigh. Maybe someday over the rainbow, right?  I just gotta believe!!!

Anna and I didn’t really go anywhere more then 3 hours away…..I know–pretty hardcore.

We’ve had some good times that I just gotta share—we’ve been busy this month visiting some of our favorites.

First stop:
Kenosha, WI

can we say obsessed?  yeah…I’d say baby girl has a major obsession with dogs.  nothing makes her kick her legs with more excitement– (I’m thinking a dog may be in our distant future if this keeps up) I’d even go as far as to say that her excitement level towards dogs even beats out when daddy first walks in the door when he comes home from work–sorry daddy.

Lucy and Anna were smitten.

and who can blame her?  Lucy is pretty darn cute.

we had a great time.

and anna got a lot of love and kisses from all those who ate her up. yeah, those are lipstick kisses covering her head.

We were there to visit with Auntie Kate and Uncle Mark, take pictures of their beautiful home for their adoption profile book, and just chill out lazily in the lovely sunlight that streamed through the windows.

some super cool pics from M&K’s pad:

note:  coffee tastes the best with a dollop of whip cream on tophave I said that already?

Mark and Kate~ The whole family hopes, prays, and stands with you in your journey.  We love you!!
Thank you for the wonderful weekend retreat–you are so good to us.

oh–and Ka–guess what?  baby anna has developed the snot-rag mentality–she sucks her thumb and holds onto her bear/blanket (almost as if she was smelling it!) and falls asleep.  Check it:

Here are a few after-the-blizzard-struck pics we took to show just how much snow fell in southern WI:
I’ve never seen so much snow in all my life…

2nd Stop:
Escanaba, MI

bald headed, striped shirt cutie pies–they look like sister and brother, don’t they?  Family they are.  Jonathan is Anna’s handsome cousin.  and auntie Heather and I loved watching their interactions…they already really enjoy stealing toys away from each other.  We’re excited to watch their friendship bloom in the coming years.

I love me some Jonathan!

He loved showing off his valentine balloon to his cousin.

and of course–Anna went crazy once again for their doggy Barkley.

3rd Stop:
YWCA swimming pool

ok…so this isn’t really ‘out-of-town’, but I thought it was worth mentioning—it was our little cupcake’s 1st swimming pool experience….and she was pretty intrigued by the whole ordeal.

we ended up having the whole pool all to ourselves–

not a lot of smiles….mostly just serious faces and lots of talking.  only time will tell if we have a fishy on our hands or not.

……………………………………….

Tony and I watched Chocolat last night….gosh, I love that movie.  I think I might have a little gypsy in my blood–not really–but I’d liked to think I do.  That clever north wind truly stirs me up to seek out adventure….I feel drawn out to meet new people and see the sights my eyes were created to behold.  I know it’s just a matter of time.  I hope it’s just a matter of time.

But until that day, there is no place like home.
