Have yourself a merry little wedding/Christmas…

Ok…so it’s been crazy, awesome, busy as of late. A wedding to go to and take pictures at, presents to think of and seek out, yummies to make, Christmas traditions to uphold–well, you get the picture. In fact…if your reading this… I hope this post gives you a nice needed break from your crazy world as well.

My ridiculously beautiful cousin just got married to the man of her dreams–and I was over-the-moon to help take pics of her special day. Ridiculously beautiful….seriously.  She’s got one of those Julia Roberts smiles that are not easily forgotten and are extremely contagious–she could trademark that kind of beauty.

The wedding was a complete success.  Tears were shed, smiles and laughter were in abundance, and love was definitely in the air.  This couple made my heart melt just by the way they looked at each other.

It was amazing to see what these two lovebirds were able to accomplish in a few short months of planning their wedding a continent away.  They met and work in Burkina Faso, Africa….I’m guessing that the hands and feet of this operation was carried out by all the little family and friend elves.

Mazel Tov! Congrats Matt & Meg!

oh–and Anna was at her best behavior during the entire wedding (Grandma was thrilled to keep her company), and she fell fast asleep at the reception snuggled up next to mommy.

Next up on the weekend’s agenda:  Demien Christmas
This is how we Demien’s ‘do’ Christmas:  we all veg out in PJs, the TV is blasting with football, we gorge ourselves on appetizer delights all day long, and we play games that make us laugh a lot at ourselves and each other.  Oh yeah–and then there are the presents to open as well–which usually takes awhile because you are trying to round everyone up in front of the tree from all the nooks and cranny’s of the house.

We celebrated my side of the family’s Christmas at my brother’s house this year.
Anna’s first time opening up a Christmas gift:
(well, with the aid of Grandma)

she loves her new elephant toy (thank you Aunt Mara!) and her fancy soccer ball (thanks dad!)

Grandma made Anna her very own ornament and Aunt Kate & Uncle Mark got her some reading material–which Grandma opened up right away for story time.

My nephews were as cute as can be in matching Thomas the Train PJs–they were a lot of fun to watch this year.  Cause that is what you do, don’t you?  Watch.  Children opening presents is the best entertainment ever–it totally wins over any football game.

Check this:  my godson Peter with his brand new “Super Peter” cape made for him by Grandma–
(I love the look on his face as Aunt Bethany first puts it on him–so stoic–I think he was seriously contemplating the huge responsibility he was taking on by becoming Super Peter)

I was changing Anna’s diaper right before we were about to head home–and my two nephews came up and started to have their own fun conversation with her.  It was too precious–so I reached over to my bag to grab my camera real quick to capture a few shots before the moment was gone–hence, the diaper was not all the way attached yet, and my camera settings were not perfect–but I’m sure you’ll understand why.

she absolutely adores her cousins.  and I absolutely love to watch.

And here’s to yours and mine this holiday season–I couldn’t resist the Snowflake mug this morning.

and I also couldn’t resist showing off our santa baby and her new stocking made with love from Grandma.

Our baby’s 1st Christmas…..one that will not be easily forgotten.
